The EDA Group is a young Italian industrial group with a core business of burn-in systems and equipment for the Semiconductor industry. Starting from last year it was decided to implement three important strategies: increase the efficiency, diversify the group business and improve customer support.

Regarding the increase of efficiency the solution was the creation of a new company CEM, based in Italy, that will concentrate on all the system production activities (electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, automation). Moreover Burn-in boards (BIBs) production was moved to EDA Industries Asia Pacific in Singapore to offer more competitive pricing.
The diversification is still on-going and other business areas such as aerospace, military, biomedical and low cost testers have been approached.

In order to offer better support to our customers the strategy is to have local branch offices for improved logistics and real time response. EDA Industries in Italy is taking care of all customers based in Europe. EDA Industries Asia Pacific in Singapore has already been reinforced to offer better support on all systems installed in Asia. The branch office in Dallas, named EDA Industries North America, is supporting the U.S.A. market, while the new one in Suzhou, named EDA Industries Suzhou, has been set up to support customers in China.

Now EDA Industries S.p.a. is a fully certified company based on people with a wide know-how and experience not only on electronics but also on software, mechanics, thermodynamics and automation. So the Mission of EDA Industries S.p.a. is to be your engineering partner for any burn-in and testing need not only for Semiconductor but also for electronic products.

History
The EDA Industries S.p.a. is the result of a merger of three companies: EDA Semiconductor S.p.a, EDA Equipment S.r.l. and Environmental Systems S.r.l.
The strategy of the merger was to have a single more complete, flexible, dynamic and powerful company able to be a real turn-key partner for the electronics market and in particular for the Semiconductor one.

The History of EDA Industries S.p.a. started from EDA S.r.l., a company established in 1993. This was the first company of EDA Group and even though the main activity was related to burn-in products, since the beginning EDA S.r.l. was also involved on other products for the Electronics market. In 1996 EDA S.r.l. decided to focus its efforts in the Semiconductor market and all other activities and products not strictly related to Semiconductors were transferred to a new company named EDA Equipment S.r.l. In order to underline this specific mission EDA S.r.l. later changed its name to EDA Semiconductor S.p.a.

In 2001 another company named ES Environmental Systems S.r.l. was created. The aim of this company was to develop and produce burn-in chambers. With the addition of this company it was possible to complete the strategy to offer to our customers fully integrated Burn-in & Test systems for the Semiconductor market as well as E.S.S. systems for Electronic boards and modules.

Since these three companies are very tightly linked together and in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs, this year the strategy was to merge them all in a single company, named EDA Industries S.p.a.
